Death is just the beginning.
Felix stood at her graveside, eyes burning with sorrow, voice trembling in the winter cold. “This isn’t a kids’ story. The bad guys aren’t evil for the sake of being evil. The good guys fight for a way of life that benefits the privileged at the expense of everyone else—hell, they tried to kill me. So who’s good and who’s evil? Is one side any better than the other? And what’s more important, individual freedom or the right to live without fear? How can I choose for myself when everyone’s trying to choose for me? I only know one thing for sure: when I decide, people are going to die. Good people? Bad people? How will I know until it’s too late? Maybe there isn’t a right answer, and that’s why I’m afraid—why we all should be afraid.”

R.T. Lowe is the author of The Felix Chronicles: Freshmen (Book 1), Five Days In January (Book 2) and Tides Of Winter (Book 3). R.T. is a graduate of Willamette University and Columbia Law School. Originally from Oregon, he now lives in Newtown, Connecticut with his wife and four sons.

In this third installment, Felix has to make some hard choices. People's lives depended on his actions and there's no easy way out. Lofton and ERA keep messing with the world and fear is the current state of mind.

We are faced again with full pack action scenes, blood, death, danger, and so many emotions. This author has an ability to write dark chapters that still have a human touch in them. The characters have evolved since the first book and there's still a long way for them to go.

In my first review, I mentioned that I loved that the relationship between Felix and Allison was a simple friendship with no romantic tone, and for moments I was afraid the author would change that their bond but it is stronger than ever and they love each other (but as friends).

If you have read the other two books YOU MUST read this one. And if you like dark urban fantasy, great characters and good writing try this series.

Felix and Allison return from winter break with hopes of settling into the comfortable rhythms of college life only to find Portland College hasn’t escaped the wave of senseless violence sweeping across the land, from the malls of Minnesota to a small town in northern Maine. Amidst the chaos, a political movement rises, fueled by the turmoil threatening to tear the country apart. As the public’s discontent reaches a final tipping point, a new hope emerges from an unexpected figure, a man offering the promise of peace and security—the prospect of ‘freedom from fear’. When the line that separates allies from enemies blurs and good and evil becomes a matter of perspective, Felix must make a choice. But as the gears of a 2,000-year-old prophecy grind inexorably to the future, can Felix choose his own path, or is free will as illusory as the salvation promised by a man destined to set the world aflame?

Young adults with supernatural powers, a rich powerful man who wants to rule the world, a dangerous radical group and a prophecy of what's to come, all of this is the recipe for the second book in The Felix Chronicles series.

After reading and getting to know Feliz in book one I needed to know what was next for him? After discovering his powers, he is faced with all these expectations from people around him and has to learn who to trust and which side is good.

This installment has all the qualities I liked in the first one, it's fast, easy to read with a great use of words. The descriptions and characters allow us to picture all the action unfolding. The situation the world is facing is violent and the author does a great job creating a world that is both dark and fascinating. And I want to mention that I knew ERA was behind something bigger.

Pre Order: Prancing Around With Sleeping Beauty @stacyjuba

Prancing Around With Sleeping Beauty

Prancing Around With Sleeping Beauty, the second book in Stacy Juba's Storybook Valley series, is now available for pre-order. If you pre-order now, you will get the book delivered to your e-reader on the official release date of March 5, 2018.

Prancing Around With Sleeping Beauty
This Sleeping Beauty isn’t sure she wants to wake up…
Dance instructor Rory Callahan likes to play it safe. When she meets Kyle, he’s impulsive, persistent, and her exact opposite. He’s pushing her to tango way past her comfort zone and keeping Rory on her toes more than twenty years of dance teachers ever had.
Unfortunately, he’s the grandson of her family’s archrival and she doesn’t want to disappoint them. After all, her parents imagine her as a proper princess - hence her namesake Aurora, AKA Sleeping Beauty. Complicating matters, Rory’s also dealing with a surgeon boyfriend who’s perfect for her (sort of), an obnoxious boss, and desperate dance moms. Kyle wants to change her whole life, but Rory doesn’t like the stakes. After all, princesses are the ones who get the happy endings. . .aren’t they?

In the meantime, while you're waiting for Sleeping Beauty to wake up, you can start with the first book in the series, Fooling Around With Cinderella.

Fooling Around With CinderellaEver wondered what those cheerful theme park princesses are really thinking? When twenty-five-year-old Jaine Andersen proposes a new marketing role to the local amusement park, general manager Dylan Callahan charms her into filling Cinderella’s glass slippers for the summer. Her reign transforms Jaine’s ordinary life into chaos that would bewilder a fairy godmother. Secretly dating her bad boy boss, running wedding errands for her ungrateful sisters, and defending herself from the park’s resident villain means Jaine needs lots more than a comfy pair of shoes to restore order in her kingdom...
